Packing Gear

I'm doing final planning on what to pack and have to say something about the gear that I am bringing. I realize that I am always a bit preoccupied with this part of the planning process, although on this trip I am trying to downsize and conserve size and weight. However, I now realize that I am making up for that with additional parts and pieces. I have a new PC option that weighs a little more than a pound and functions well with only a touch screen, but to make life easy I am bringing a mouse and mini-keyboard as well. After going back and forth about cameras over the years, I found I am quite happy with a smaller 18 zoom Panasonic rather than my digital SLR with additional lenses. Still need a backup camera just in case and both take video as well. I am also a bit obsessed about power charging options, and now have a number of things that can charge (or be charged) via standard USB port connections - again, more parts and pieces including a tangle of cables for connections. But, all things considered, lighter.
